I will answer questions and we will discuss why you are interested in hiring a Doula, what you are seeking to experience in birth, and any hesitancies or questions you may wish to clear before investing.

How it works:
I come to your home 2-3 times prenatally, and we sit and chat for up to 2 hours each time. Our sessions are tailored to your families unique needs. I ask questions, you ask questions, and I walk you and your partner through the information you need to know when preparing for a birth and a baby.

Drafting a birth plan - a template we fill together- rooted in your values and desires

Postpartum preparation - setting yourself up for breastfeeding, physical recovery, and support
I will work hard to assist your family in feeling safe, taken care of, and capable during birth.

When the birth has begun, you keep me updated and we decide together when the right time is for me to come

A continuous, calming, and confident presence in addition to practical support for you (and your loved ones) throughout the birthing process

I anticipate, notice, and respond to your needs during the birthing process. These can include: physical needs for food, water, and rest, and emotional needs for privacy, respect, and encouragement

Assistance with non-pharmacological pain management

Advocacy and assistance with navigating any unexpected occurrences, the medical system, and making space for informed consent

Communication with your other supports and medical care team when appropriate

Support in following your body's instincts- such as freedom of movement, and mother directed pushing

Immediate support with the first breastfeed and the first few hours after birth

Beyond bonding with and caring for your baby, the postpartum period is a time for physical recovery, rest, and great adjustment in your family dynamic.
Support and encouragement in this sensitive time is vital to a mothers wellbeing, which is vital to her newborn's wellbeing.

An opportunity to debrief your birth experience - usually done six weeks postpartum, but available beyond this timeline.
Optional to add on this cozy closing ceremony to a birth package or to book independent of other services.
We mark the end of this birth and rite of passage, let go of what needs letting go, and embrace the wonder of you.

Soothing electrical buzzing to distract and manage pain during birth- this little device is especially helpful for back and neck pain during birth.
